The Cave
Pieza simétrica que gira en torno al mito de la caverna de Platón.
El mecanismo creado pone en juego la fragilidad de la apariencia y la
falsedad del conocimiento derivado de ella. Dos ejecutantes adoptan
desde el principio sendas posiciones fijas, uno de pie frente al público, otro
sentado de espaldas a él, estableciendo un diálogo basado en las preguntas
lanzadas al supuesto vidente por el que no puede ver. La conversación deja
al descubierto un territorio de dudas y falsas certezas del cual es imposible
escapar. A la media hora exacta del comienzo se invierten las posiciones y
todo vuelve a empezar como si nada hubiera sucedido.

A symmetrical work that revolves around Plato’s idea of the Cave.
The mechanism that is set up reveals the fragility of appearances and
the falsity of knowledge derived from them. From the beginning two
performers adopt fixed positions, one of them standing, facing the audience,
the other seated, with his back to the audience. They establish a dialogue
based on the questions put to the alleged seeing person by the person who
cannot see. The conversation exposes a territory of doubts and erroneous
certainties from which it is impossible to escape. Precisely half an hour after
beginning the piece, they switch positions and begin again,
as though nothing has happened.
